Getting the Wheeling Fever

Has anyone had a DRL relay go bad? What did it act like?
My DRLs started working intermittently a couple of weeks ago and now they have quit completely. I wouldn't care, except that my high-beam indicator (the blue light on the dash) is flashing on and off and I hear a buzzing and clicking from under the dash.
Everything is normal if I turn on the headlights, so I've been driving with the lights on for the last few days.
Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom.

If you are facing the truck from the front of it. Under the hood on the right (drivers side) there should be a little module that's bolted onto the inside of the right fender. THe module has a clip/ wire connected to it. The outside of the module also has something surrounding it that looks like a heat sink/ protection cage. If you unplug that module it will disable DRL's and that should fix your problem.
Hope this helps

I believe the part that's mentioned above is a very large resistor to dim the headlights. If that part's bad and you want to replace it I have a new one.

The 2001 doesn't have this module. To disable the DRLs I had to clip a wire under the dash. I also installed a switch in case I change my mind. Even with the switch off, I was having these weird problems. I removed the switch and re-wired the DRLs to see if that would solve it, but it didn't.
Fortunately, the lights mysteriously started working again yesterday so I'm not gonna worry about it right now. The DRL relay is under the dash and runs about $200, so I hope the problem doesn't come back.
Thanks for the offer.
