Hey everyone, it's been a while but I'm alive and well. The brand new engine in the Trooper is doing great, no noticeable oil consumption (but I still checked it like it does)

Anyway back to the subject... I was returning from a 800 mile trip on Sunday; cruising on the freeway at ~78mph when the ABS warning light suddenly comes on and simutaneously the cruise control disengages. Instantly I can hear a light whine coming from the front drivetrain (kinda like AWD is engaged at 60mph). I pull off the freeway and the whinning pitches lower with lower speed untill about 15mph then "clunk" and then smooth coasting to a stop. I pull out the Owners Manual and read that I should turn of the vehicle then re-start and drive at <15mph. I followed instructions and the ABS light remains lit. I read the note which states that with ABS light illuminated the ABS system is not functioning but the brakes still work so I proceed to my home. (still no cruise control) Later at the drive-thru I realize my power windows don't work (try that with inopperable windows very awkward) Later still, as I pull into my hometown with temps around 10 deg. F. I notice the rear def. dosn't work. When I get home I do some self diagnosing ie check fuses. Find that one of the ing fuses is blown replace it and get everything back to normal except for the cruise control. I post this mostly for future reference but also to see if anyone has any info on the cc? I have done a search and didn't find anything usefull. When I depress the cc button on the dash the cruise main light comes on but from there it will not engage.

Thanks in advance,
-Jared

Back to normal
The cruise control was a little retarded but driving home from work that night the cruise engaged and I've had no problems since; granted no extended cruise time (work is only 3 mi. from home). Oh well I'm happy with a virtually free resolution.
