Wheeler
my drivers side wiper linkiage is all busted up. It actually chewed through the body. The problem seems to be that the pivot is frozen to housing so the entire housing rotates instead of the pivot. Anybody ever had this problem? Can the pivot be repaired or do I have to find a new one. Just wondering. The obvious answer is "get a new pivot" but none of the junk yards around here have any montero's and mitsubishi parts doesn't carry it either.

Need a Spot
Did you ever get this fixed? My 90 has the same problem. Chewed up the metal and now just flops around. I believe I'll have to find a junker and cut out the area and weld it to mine. ...but cant find a junker.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I know of a place that has several Montero's in their lot, but they are in Washington State. I got several parts there at a good price. They may ship to you as well.

Funny - I have the same exact problem. Some idiot put a deer on the hood of this rig and it's antlers tore the body to smithirines. It's now mangled pretty good. Trouble is you need wipers to pass emissions. The rig's going in to a body shop in the next 30 days or so to get this repaired. They're going to cut out the old metal, weld in new metal, surface it, put the hole where it's supposed to do, reinstall the wipers and hope for the best...

I'll let you know how it goes. They quoted $400 for the work.

Change your oil hot and often.
