who makes a good high lift jack? id like something with a pretty heavy capacity. whats an average price, and wheres a good place to get 'em? thanks-

Get one of those.
Price anywhere from $50-75 around here.

You can catch the 48" Hi-Lift at Farm&Fleet here for about $45. I'd stick to the brand name ones. I've got my Grandpa's Hi-Lift from the farm I think he bought in the 60's!

get the name brand in this case. My dad has one that is old school, im afraid of touching it thinking I might get tetnus or something. I was thinking about getting a highlift but decided I didnt need it. Oh man how many times could I have used one?

What you want is the forged one - which i think only Hi-Lift makes. They also make a stamped shaft, as are all the generic ones.
The stamped ones arent as strong and can bend.
Black = stamped Red = forged
