Well I sold my 88' pickup to buy a nice 96' 4Runner with the 2.7 I'm sure this has probably come up before but it originally had 225's on it and it is an auto so I'm assuming it has 4.11 or 4.30 gears. For you guys with the 4 cylinder and an auto what is a comfortable tire size?? 30x9.50, ideally I'd atleast want 31's. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks much.

is it an auto or a stick? Does it have a locker? I believe the 2.7 5speeds with the locker had 4.56s, not sure about other configureations with th 2.7 though.

Sorry I can't be more help.

By the way yes I know there is a sticky for wheel and tire size FAQ, but nothing in there pertains to my question. It is the 2.7, auto, open diff., stock came with 225's. I just basically wanted to know if 31's would kill it, if anyone knows from personal experience with their 4 cylinder auto. Thanks though.
