No it's not for wheeling, I need a commuter car. I figure you KIA fans may have one or two. It seems like for the money it's the best deal out there compared to, Corolla, Focus, Sentra, And Civic. I can't believe the options that come standard on the SX for that price. The warranty alone in awesome. So my question, any persomal experiences. Thanks.

I figure you KIA fans may have one or two. Meh. IMHO, the Sportage is Kia's only redeeming factor. (Not the new grocery-getter, but the Korean designed original.) I'd go for a Honda or Yota, they've got better resale values and whatnot.

Also keep in mind the book value of whatever you buy. Gap insurance is a must when financing. If by chance the vehicle gets totaled, the vehicle will get paid off. I see quite a few people upside down & still get to pay off the loan after the car is sitting in the wrecking yard.
Why go around? When You can go over!

Ill tell ya... after I just retired my Amigo from DD duties, I needed a replacement...
So I looked, and I was going the used route, 1-3 year old.. and I looked at a lot of different vehicles... and ended up purchasing a Spectra5. The SX was at the top of the list, and was convinced that the hatchback would be more conduicive to transposrting gear and other items potentially needed for work, etc. So thats why I went with the Spec5 over the SX, same sport tuned suspension and body effects, so it has some personality and fun to drive factor, not just a boring econobox.
The civics, corollas, and other vehicles just didnt cut it, and with the 10/100k warranty on the new one, that made the decision easy. Priced at $15k out the door, fully optioned (with a 5sp) it couldnt be beat. The side benefit, is that my son will be driving in 4.5 years, and this car should hold up well enough for it to be a first car for him.
I am VERY impressed with the quality turnaround Kia has made. wehave had the Sorento for 2.25 years now, and 43k mile later, it has been a great vehicle, so the decision to add another Kia wasnt a large stretch.

Their quality is also much better than it was. Just don't buy an older one. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />
