Say more about that gap - mind doesn't have it. Its relaxed a bit in the years (so has the owner), but the adjusters seem to take that up pretty well, and adding foam plumbing insulation tubing to the hoops makes it quiet down and fit very nicely.
I loosen the tensioning straps, unbolt the top, and hoist it to the rafters for storage without disassembly. Really nice.

The bottom rails on mine and my friend Mike's don't go all the way to the back of the "cab" because there is a radius there. The bow that bends around the cab is attached to the bottom rails with two pieces of aluminum.. This is where the 'gap' is. You'd only notice it if sitting in the back seat or when first installing the rails. No biggie, though an ever so slight redesign could probably fix it... (looking into this.. )
Brian K. Gallus I have nothing important to say.

Oh, OK, I know what you mean now. I filled mine with some black foam. Its pretty small. I also ran some thin closed cell weatherstripping behind the top forward snaps to prevent any drippage when driving the highway in a pounding rain. Not that it ever did, but seemed a good idea. Its never leaked.

I have owned both the original Kayline top (2 of them actually) and I now have the Can-back. I will say that I liked the kayline for the windos and price, but the can-back is much more sturdy and the canvas used does NOT shrink up in the cooler weather. I used to have to start the truck and run the heater just to snap the darned thing up! for the seats you can get some wetokole seat covers.

Depending on price I may be interested. Are you going to look at the Kayline or the CanBack? I'm referring to the Kayline(now Specialty Top). I plan on getting one pretty soon. I like the Specialty Top. You can't really compare the 2. The Can-back is much sturdier and heavier duty material so it cost twice as much. But I just want a complete soft top in case of rain and the Specialty Top is easy to put up and down and I had no problems with it.

I'm selling my Can-Back soft top for $550; it was $1265 new in April 2001 when I got it. Buyer pays any/all shipping costs or can come pick it up in San Antonio. It's black & custom made for the 84-89 4Runners with windows on the sides & back. No roof rack or basket. (The truck is being sold to one who lives around snow, so they want the hard top instead.) Here's what Can-Back used to have posted on their site about it: "The Can Back soft top pickup truck cap is a camper shell truck canopy featuring 360? weather tight roll up sides using a heavy duty, marine grade fabric stretched over a powder coated steel frame. Optional roof rack and basket, light bars, and side windows allow you to customize the great looks and add even more functionality to this versatile truck topper." My Can-Back soft top is in great shape, & I've loved having it-- never used the hard top since I've had this. There's nothing wrong with it, & I have an extra adhesive strip for the tailgate snaps. I'll get some pix uploaded to the web for review if anyone's interested. Serious buyers can email me: kldsa@satx.rr.com

I run mine Safari top style with the windows folded under. This keeps the folded up top off of the tailgate, making it easier to get to my camping gear, and keeps the sun off of my kids too ![[Linked Image]](http://www.4x4him.com/images/LouBellV-notch-easy-line.jpg)

A deposit for the Can-Back has been made from a local buyer who does not require shipping, & it is therefore under contract; however, if you would like to be contacted in the event the sale does not go through, please let me know. I will contact replies on a "first-come-first-serve basis" & again contract to whomever sends funds first. Thank you all for your interest & emails.
