Getting the Wheeling Fever
i have a 92 montero sr, after reading about budget lifts i understand i will need to crank my t-bars, how ever after my father an i look ad my rear which sits fairly i high, i am wondering if i will need to raise the rear in order to fit a set of goodyear 285 75 r16 mtr
i am running 265 75 r15 allterrains righ now and i have lots of room between the top of my tire and my fender well to go bigger,
any suggestions?

thank you all very much

Why would you go to a 16" wheel? Why not just get a set of 33x12.5x15's? We know they will work and are probably cheaper than any 16" tire.

In the future please use more descriptive titles in the future. I have to run, but I will try and comment on your question later.

sorry for the lack of a better title, the reason for the 16 inch rim is because my father wants to replace his mud terrains with all terrains on his f250. so rather than throw them away, he is going to give them to me to put on my montero, his wheels are 16 inches so that explains why i cant get 33" 75 r15 mtr's
i will include a picture to show the body clearance i have

If the bolt pattern on the wheels is the same then you need to measure the hubs and the wheel opening to see if they will fit. The montero's hubs are pretty big and the wheels might need some grinding, if they are even the right lug pattern.

If I understand you correctly you are going to try to use his rims also?? A F250 uses a 8bolt so It will not fit your truck. Maybe I just misunderstood you and you are just using his tires. Anyway. I have 285/75r16 Bridgestone MT's on my 89 montero and have the Tbars cranked and have no rubbing at all. Of course, I havent taken it on any serious off-road adventures yet. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I don't think you'll have a problem. I run 285/75/16s on my gen 1, but lots of guys around run 33x12.50x15 on gen2s.
The 285 is actually a little narrower than the 33x12.5, and width is usually where the problems start.
