Getting the Wheeling Fever
hi everyone,
has anyone had a satelite radio installed?

i'm trying to figure out what's involved with the antenna/receiver, etc. and where in our jeeps these things would go.

I'm waiting for a handheld model of the Sirius network (so I can listen to football games). There is already a handheld XM model with an integrated antenna so that you can carry it around with you, or just dock it in your open top without the need for an antenna. If you are going to get one with an antenna, I imagine the best place for the antenna would be on the windshield in the middle next to the top frame. The only other option would be to place it behind the hood near the vent.

I have XM installed. I mounted the reciever in the center console. It used to be under the back seat, but I didn't want it to get wet when cought in the rain with no top.

My antenna is mounted under the cloth in the center on top of my sound bar. The signal passes right through the top (hard or soft) and the cloth of the sound bar with no problems. I get 100% signal, and no visible antenna. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

interesting. at least the soft top is good for something!

what are we talking about in install costs? i know there is a monthly sub fee of $10-14 depending on which company you go with.
