I am swapping 63" chevys in the rear of my 87 runner and want to be sure I have everything covered before I start tearing it apart. Please post the lengths of your dual shackles. I obviously have the stock toyota shackle but on my chevys I need to have a set made. I think they need to be 6" eye to eye. I called Sky and they said their shackles are 6" E to E and that should work but I want to ask others who have already done it to be sure. Also do I need to worry about the shackles inverting when they droop or is there something I can do to prevent this? Thanks, Andrew

Just use the stock Chevy shackle bolted to the stock Toyota shackle. Or skip that silly dual shackle thing altogether.

I do not have the stock chevy shackles so I am trying to figure out what length they need to be so that I can get a set made. Should I get a set of shackles made or just go out and buy a new set of chevy shackles?

I've done the dual shackle set up on two of my trucks. It works great. If you are going to make the shackles yourself, thats cool, but make them about 8 inches eye to eye. If you are going to buy a set or have them made, go to 4wheelparts and get a set of front and rear 2" lift shackles for and '85 pickup, bolt them together, and then to your truck and springs. They are about $40 a set, but they're totally bomb proof, and they come with very beefy hardware. I think they're well worth the money and hassle saved. The only bummer is your supporting the evil empire!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />

I have a set of stock chevy shackles you can have for minimal cost. I went with a single shackle setup - never tried double. PM if you are interested.
