Need a Spot
I know this probably shouldn't be here but we haven't had any luck and someone here always knows something about anything. The wife has expressed a desire to ride a motorcycle, more specificaly a trike. That means please build me one. After some internet surfing I found out a car diff shortened works the best and the largest builder of trike kits uses a 6 3/4" ford rear end.Never heard of it.Does anyone here know what could be used in its place or what kind of car they are in? If i find one I'll go get it in one of my TROOPERS (Isuzu content) Thank you

Body Damage is Cool
A lot of golf carts used narrowed ford 9" rear ends. That would be a nice beefy diff . . . hmmm, the Isuzu 12 bolt is very similar . . . SG

Roll Me Over
Isuzu rear ends are going to be a good bit larger than 6 3/4" Ford... you're talking about 8.5" for an Isuzu 10-bolt diff. You're not going to find a rear end smaller than 7.5"-8" under a truck/SUV. for something like that, you might wanna look to car axles.

Or, like steve said, built it overkill and go with an Isuzu 10-bolt or Ford 9" if you want to go totally crazy.

I already have a spare ISUZU 12bolt but it seems to be a bit massive for this and using a limited slip on a trike might make going around a corner kind of dangerous.I've been leaning towards a miata or some other micro car.The part I cant figure out is where does a 6 3/4 come from? Picture this,Yamaha seca 650 front isuzu 12 bolt rear,6 bolt wheels with a set of 32's on.Might be different.

How about the rear axle from a 4wd Subaru? Very compact, light and independent suspension. Would that be to weird for a 3 wheeler? SG
