do you think the autozone brand hoses would last 5 years? i know this is a pretty dumb question but how much do you guys tighten the hose clamps. im always unsure about that. but i dont mean to high jack your post.

I only use OEM hoses and tighten the clamps as tight as they'll go. I can't comment about 3rd party hoses, but as far as belts go, I ride road bicycles and see a lot of broken serpentine (always serpentine) belts in the bike lane...never any non-serpentine belts. I noticed that a lot of the non-OEM belts are serpentine belts (don't know if that's because the OEM part for that vehicle had belts like that or not, as I've only owned Toyota's and Honda's, and they don't/didn't use serpentine fan/AC/alternator belts).
