 Whats the best way to set the throttle position sensor?

I mean is there a special way to do it or just stick it on and plug it in. Also should it spin with the throttle body or aginst it? I have both parts laying around. The one I took off went the opposite way?

I don't know what you have but for a 1997 they just show resistance readings with nothing for adjustments. I guess if it does not meet spec, throw it away. On the 22RE you could turn the plastic top to set idle/off idle points. This just shows resistance at 0.2 to 5.7K ohms between VTA & E2 throttle closed, 2.0 to 10.2K ohms VTA to E2 throttle fully open, and 2.5 to 5.9K ohms VC to E2. VC is the middle pin, E2 is the top pin if you are facing the pins with the large flat part of the plug(the part that mounts to the TB) facing to the right. I guess the ECU must work with the readings as long as they are in the ballpark.

I have a 96 2wd 3.4. Not sure whats going on but ever lately I have a real bad skipping hesatation when I gas it. I do get a check engine light that reads TPS out of spec. What ever that means?
