An Isuzu Rodeo reported carjacked from a Jacksonville trailer park was involved in a fatal accident Wednesday on Blanding Boulevard just north of Branan Field-Chaffee Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Lt. Bill Leeper said a man died and a woman was seriously injured when the 1993 Isuzu went out of control and overturned in the median about 2 p.m.

Both occupants were ejected; neither was wearing a seat belt.

Their names were not immediately available.

The Isuzu was owned by a Jacksonville man who told police he was beaten Tuesday while he sat in the vehicle outside of a trailer at the Sun Tree Trailer Park in the 4400 block of Philips Highway.

The 34-year-old victim said four men and two women forced their way into the vehicle and drove off with him inside. He told police he was forced into the back seat and beaten then thrown out at Emerson Street. He had cuts and bruises consistent with being beaten and pushed onto a rough surface, police said.
