That is the standard converter stall test. My turbo does the same thing but you can get an idea of the stall speed.
What counts is to understand that stall speed is the RPM the motor climbs to under those conditions and is typicly above 1200 rpm.
Also try using the E brake as well as the service brake to get a bit more rear braking. I have also upgraded my rear wheel cylinders to get a bit more rear brakes. It give a bit better match to the V6 brakes in the front.

Speaking of adapters: I designed a set of three components to mate a 4.3 to the stock KM-148 Mitsi tranny. I drew them on a CAD system and had an engineer here at work cut them on a CNC. They were beautiful, and the amazing part was that it worked. I used a 1" plate at the back of the GM block, a crankshaft extension, two flexplates (one to crank the engine and the stock plate to hook up to the torque converter) and a 1/2" plate to connect the trannsy to the GM plate. As I said, it worked , but it was not totally reliable as I blew the front trans pump seal a couple of times. I finally caved and just put in the 700R and a modified NP207. I kept pics if you wanna see 'em. Just give me an e-mail address.

but is a a mitsu if its got a GM engine? i think the swappers may have to do some soul searching... Nah, it's still a Mitsu, just a highly customized one. There are a lot of cars with other makes of engines in them from the factory. With that line of thinking, the Dodge Caravan's with the Mitsu engines in them would be tough to call Dodges...
