I'm in the process of rebuilding my 20r, and while cleaning everything for the reassembly I noticed that the teeth on the oil pump drive gear (the one that slides on the end of the crank) are fairly worn. I was expecting to get this with my new oil pump , but it wasn't included <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> . I wanted to check w/ the board whether this was a part normally replaced w/ the pump before I called engnbldr and asked him. I know he's busy and the less I call him the sooner my head will be done <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> .

I don't think the drive collar is included with the oil pump. Depending on what it looks like I might have one.

It is this piece, although I beleive a 20r is different than 22r because of the std. double row timing chain. Anyone have a reccomendation on where to get one of these (new) besides the stealership? Thanks for the offer TrailToy.

Im guessing the one in the photo is yours...and if so, it looks perfectly fine to me. You can slide it into the inner gear and check for fit prior to install...and if still concerened with it being worn Engnblr does have some of these. They arent included with the new oil pump by anyone. I got one from him last month when doing the final assembly and install of the new engine....which of course he built. lol Im sure he'll give you one hell of a deal on one. ~Darin <img border="0" alt="[Baby]" title="" src="graemlins/baby.gif" />

Actually, the one shown isn't mine, I found the pic while searching for info <img border="0" alt="[Nerd]" title="" src="graemlins/nerd.gif" /> . That's what I wanted to know, that my pump wasn't supposed to come with it. I'll have engnbldr send me one with my head next week. I like to know the scoop before I call <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> Thanks, guys
:edit:- EB-GenII, is this a proto stroker <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" /> ???? If so, I'd like more info on it. LOL You can ask him all the questions that come to mind. Then m,aybe you can fill me in on a few things he hasnt told me yet. Still havent verified if its a full stroker but since it had been a topic of discussion over the last year...and the internals are not "Toyota 22R" components...thats what Im assuming! lol Plus he kinda answered me in his step around the answer kind of way! But it performs like a stroker, strong steady consistant power delivery from around 1500 rpms all the way up. I'll be down at his place next weekend to go over the motor as well as fix the one I just broke. The 22R-EB Gen1. That motor was a screamer and made my 4x4 an Integra eater on the highway...topend had no limit! Gen 2 was a test to see if it would start and run without blowing up at operating temperature. Hoping to make a marketable rebuild option for blocks that exceed standard rebuild specs. IT WORKED! lol ~Darin <img border="0" alt="[Baby]" title="" src="graemlins/baby.gif" />

Well, it's a no-go. Ted said other than the dealer, the wrecking yard is the only place to get the early oil pump drive gear. Off to the bone-yard I go!

Sorry about that...guess having 85 and newer motors is my advantage. Although the 81' Celica has its original 22R in it. Want me to tear the front off and send ya the drive gear? lol only thing is you have to send me yours in return! For those who may find this thread using the search button <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> , LC Engineering has BRAND NEW drive splines for double or single row chains for $20. It's worth the peace of mind for me. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="images/icons/cool.gif" />
