Ceramic Clutch? #610328 06/03/05 07:09 PM

Hey all,

I'm looking at purchasing the Ceramic Clutch from MarlinCrawler.

I searched the forum, and google, and could not come up with any explenantion between a ceramic clutch and a stock clutch. I do know that performace cars such as Porsche's use a ceramic clutch, and supposedly they work better with heat and abuse? Well, maybe just heat.

Any thoughts on this are appreciated!

Thanks!

Hmm, I had no idea marlin was selling these and I believe your are the first to ask about them on the forums. I doubt anyone is running one to give you any feedback. Why not buy one and you could be our guinea pig. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

I have no idea what advantages a ceramic disc will give you.

I think I will purchase one, its a bit of a pain though, when I called them to ask about shipping to Canada they said it was usually a real pain. So, I'm going to have it shipped to my brother-in-law in California, where I happen to be going at months end. So I'll pick it up then. It won't be installed or tested until middle-to-end of july (or early august depending on how the project goes).

I'm still interested in feed back though. If anyone finds any info on ceramic clutches vs. standard "stock" clutches please let me know.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
i believe the main differences are ceramic clutches last longer and they don't lose gripping power when they get hot.
