Congradulations on your swap. Very clean indeed. This is by far the best tech write up I've seen on this swap. I did this swap last summer (04) and also am very happy with it. Wish I had this when I did mine. I used a 2" body lift, which let me use the stock Supra rad, let me raise the engine so the ac would clear the steering box and gave me more clearance around the firewall and pb booster. Also let me raise gas tank and cross member up for more ground clearance. I hacked up my core support to move the rad forward and used two 12" puller fans. Fabed upper and lower core braces and was able to use stock hood latch and ac condenser. Installed 9" pusher fan for ac. (I'm in Tx.) The only problem so far is leaky valve seals. Also I mistakingly left off the altitude compensator. I thought "HAC" was something to do with the heat and AC on the wiring schematic.

Lugnut914 - Just curious - what kind of mileage are you getting from your swap? Any idea on power estimates? How about total cost for the swap?

18mpg around town. I got lucky on ebay and found someone in sacramento who had started this swap then lost interest and had to move. Got rebuilt engine, newclutch, bellhousing, ac, acc., wiring and computor plus lots of spares and new parts for around $900, including air freight. Picked up complete Supra for $100. So I figure I got around $1500. Made my own exhaust. Most went for plumbing (mainly ac hoses). Around 200HP with KN filter and 2.5 exhaust. Just guessin'.

I strongly suspect that Rick's motor is running in open loop all the time to get mileage numbers that low. The HAC sensor is something I didn't think of; it is mounted externally from the ECU on pre-89 Supras...mine is below the glovebox and 1.5' of wires connect it to the ECU.
Consider this, I think the NA 7M has 305 cc injectors. I have burn through nearly 3/4 of a tank of gas at the track where my car is either idling for hours or at WOT. My turbo injectors are nearly twice the size at 550 cc and my lowest mileage has been 14 mpg. Have you smogged the 4Runner with this engine or checked the A/F ratio with a wideband O2 meter?

What does the HAC (High Altitude Compensation) sensor look like? I'm almost positive that I don't have it. Do I have to have it or can I jumper something? My ECU is a from a 89 cressida. I know on the supra's the '89 + models had it built into the ECU - I have no idea on the cressidas. and no I haven't checked the A/F ratio but its on my things to do. Oh and I don't have smog in my area. I don't see anything on my electrical schematic for the ECU that refers to a HAC sensor. http://tellico.off-road.com/wwwthreads_uploads/1464184-schematic2.GIF
