Hi, will be getting a BudBuild crossmemeber / skidplate
to get rid of that stock one that sticks way out.
My truck is an extra-cab so it will definately benefit from
this mod.
The hardest part I guess is cutting and repositioning the horsecollar member. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> Maybe I can put that off until later if the clearance will still be O.K.?
Oh, and was looking at Roger's site and the good thing is that I have a one piece driveshaft!
Any advise?
BTW I'm going for 2", probably will be ordering 4Crawlers motor spacers.
Thanks,
Hugh

sounds good. you might get away with not lifting the horse collar. I did all that when I was doing the rear leaf swap and 3" gas tank lift. I found that a 2.5" Bud built and a 1" engine lift worked out better than a 2.5". make sure you have yourself an angle finder. I suggest you take some pinion angles before doing the drivetrain lift, then when you intall everything you can try to get the angles like they were. It's good to at least know what your angles where. I wish I did that.

You can always measure your rear driveshaft clearance to see if the horsecollar x-member needs lifting or notching:

But raising it adds the benefit of raising everything connected to it like the gas tank and the exhaust. With 1-piece u-joint driveshafts, raising engine and t-case equally will preserve your driveshaft alignment.
