hey boys i've finally gotten some time to work on my jeep, (now that my honda broke down also so if im going to resove an issue i'd rather it be the jeep), dopped the old tank last night went to the fuel pump and boy thatso called fiter was nothing but a rectangular piece of mud i was able to reach down in there and pull out a clump of mudd and was wondering what is the recomended way of cleaning the tank, can i just wash it out with a hose?

and btw by my findings with this im sure this is the reason why my jeep was having problems before now just to get some fuel injector cleaner smile

Reign you can do anything to that tank you would like to do...cept maybe strike a match!
Sure power wash it and then let her dry..
The first thing to put back in there would be a quart of alcohol to gather up any stray water and then fill her up with gasoline.. You should be good to go.
Uhh, How did mother earth get in there in the first place? I've had em in the creek for days at a time and never got dirt in the gas tank.
You do need to be careful with that thing the vapors inside can cause an awful noise of they get lit.

well big jim we washed it with water then poured some gas in tehre and swirled it like girlies, but when trying to put the pump back it it wont go down all the way to tightin the bolts, it was sitting all night open thing the fuel pump carrier could be the problem? it is warped now and bent in some places. should it just be straight along the edges? im short of fitting about and inch

I am thinking I had a similiar thing happen to a wrangler once... Seems there is a gizmo in there that the pump intake had to sit NEXT to..
I would take good measurements with my trusty ruler and proceed as needed. If it came out of there it should go back inside. If it is a replacement somebody might have cut the hose too long the first time.. If so SHORTEN IT!

Body Damage is Cool
Your piston is stuck in the caliper. Buy two rebuilt calipers, they are cheap for what they do. For the labor involved they are not worth trying to rebuild yourself. Also check the rear brakes while your at it. Shoes and rebuilt wheel cylinders (if needed) are cheap also.

Reign you have ruint that rotor! Period! I can redo the front brakes with new rotors, rebuilt calipers and pads for just bout $100 down here. Remember to get the cheap pads so the thing will stop good.
the backend is 30/40 bucks more than the front. I have stopped grinding Jeep rotors, they are so cheap new, I see no gain in grinding (turning) them.
Good thing you were near home! I would hate to have one lock up 5 or 6 hours from my stall.
