How wide is the rear bumper on a second gen pickup? I havent had a rear bumper for awhile and am trying to make one but dont know how wide to make it.

Erick, do you want a bumper instead of having to make one? I have the factory chrome step bumper that came on my 88' complete with brackets that hasnt been on the truck since about...oh 1989. Might need to clean up the inside surface but otherwise its straighter than catholic schoolgirl..... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.

Or you can be patient, and I'll measure it when I get home later.

thanks darin but naw. I need something that can take alot more of a pounding than the stock bumper.
I have everything to make a bumper sitting next to me. but I dont know how wide to make.

Mine is about 65" wide as I recall:

Make it whatever width you want, as wide as the bed, a little wider for more protection, a little narrower for better clearance.
