Canadian Trooper, eh?

It was built w/o an A/C unit and I'm not "cool" with that.

Has anyone installed an entire A/C unit into our rigs? How? How much? What type of PITA is it?

Thanks

Well , if you don't have any of the parts , it can be a lot of work.I have the internal parts out of my 89 , so taking those , plus all the wiring for those parts , which youhave to follow the wiring harness to the fuse box Then I am using the condensor and eveporator as they are usable on both the 2.6 and 2.8 , but I need a new compressor that goes on the V6 , and some new hose , plus the kit to convert it to the R134.

If your in a big city , ask around what it would cost you.Out of curiosity I asked at the local midas , and they said it would cost about 2500 to install A/C , thats why I decided to do it all myself.I can pick up a used compressor for about 90 , then its just a matter of a few hours work putting the parts in the trooper , and then not sure how much for the refit kit and some stuff to charge it up.But whatever it is , its a lot cheaper than 2500.Call me cheap , but I am spending my money on other things right now , like my 3.4 , all the parts and goodies I have for it , a fresher tranny and transfer case then mine with 350,000 KM on it , plus some new rims and tires. When its all said and done , I'll have put about 6,000 into my truck.

But , I'll have a truck with a new engine , tranny , transfer case , tera lows , new torsion bars , 3" body lift on top of my suspension lift , headers , 33" tires , alloy rims , new brake lines , new fuel lines , new radiator , a few extras on the engine , etc , etc
