Wife had to go through some tests after they found some stuff on one of her Kidneys. Our doctor is a "tell it like it is" kinda guy and told us more than likely cancer...we'll know in two weeks. They did the biopsy and handed us our pins and needles seat cushion. Long 2 weeks I tell ya! Good news though...its a kidney disease not cancer. So we aint gonna be making any permanent arrangments anytime soon. Only bad part of the results is the treatment for this disease. One HUGE injection directly into the kidney every week for the next six weeks. Then every other week for the following six weeks...then retesting etc. Huge frickin needle right through the gut , I have to take 3 day weekends for the next 12 weeks so I can be home with her the days of the treatments. Considering the alternative...we are both happy. Me more than her obviously since I aint the one getting stuck.

Good news, indeed. Glad for the both of ya.

That's gotta be weird seeing such a long needle going into your body.

Thanks guys! As for the long thick needle, I wont be able to look at it. More than likely wont be able to be in the same room at injection time. But my wife is pretty cool about that kinda stuff. I can peel open my hand, knee or my own guts and not have a problem with gore...but needles? ICK! Hearing her even make the slightest noise with me knowing why....uh-uh. So Im weak! LOL

12 weeks of 3-day weekends wont be so bad. Thats what the newly acquired 85' Celica is for. Sure polished up nice by the way...time to decide which route to go with the engine.

My wife is the exact same way as you are. Can't even stand the sight of needles or even the thought of them. I went to the hospital one time for a broken arm and she ended up in the room right next to me after passing out seeing the IV. But never mind about that....

I'm glad to hear things are much better than they could have been. Seems like you're handling it much better than I would be able too. Best of luck to you both.

Needles you say? I used to work in a Urologist's office and I used to give the patients who had prostate cancer their Zoladex injections. It was a pill that was about the size of a benedryl capsule that I would inject subcutaneously, (just beneath the layers of skin) in the belly. The needle was huge and I would have to use lido /c epi to numb it first. those poor guys must've hated me! and the tx wasn't cheap! like $350 a month on top of what else they had to take.
I once had a woman come in to see the doctor, when I asked her what was the reason for her visit, she said "I think I have prostate cancer"! It was all I could do to get out of the room without busting a gut! I did stumble on the way out, so she probably thought that was the reason we all were laughing our butts off. Needless to say she just had a UTI. (bladder infection)

how bout this one! I was real sick with some kind of Pneumonia and all the doctors I was working with were busy, but I was told that I needed a shot of Rocephin, this stuff has the consistency of cooking oil when properly mixed with lidocaine, anyhoo there was nobody around to give me the injection once I got it all prepared, and since I'm a fatty I figured I'd use a 2 inch long needle just to be on the safe side, (I didn't want to have to re-stick myself)that was about 18 gauge, just huge! well since it had to be used right away I had to inject myself right into my quad muscle in my leg, unfortunatly I didn't quite need that long of a needle, so it hit my bone, damn did that hurt, for about 3 days! but i got better real quick!

>>>*Morning, Darin! Glad to come home for some good news.

We know how worrisome the big "C" word can be, I have had several biopsies done and so has Le'. Not something one can put off, even though only a small percentage of suspected situations actually turn out to be bad news, glad your lady is OK.

I have some better news, too. We have now managed to stop nearly all the legal stuff on my Uncle's estate so all that is left is the confirm from one opposing lawyer, should be today. *Amazing how dropping some hints about federal charges causes them to pause..

Best news is I hired my personal massuese to go tend to my Mom for a week, and she seems to have clicked like I knew she would. Of course she plays dumb so mom has to get up and show her how to do everything...*LOL**..

Got her to talking a blue streak and out of that chair in one day! Gal's name is Sofia, nice Greek lady, she has one of those bubbly personalities and she is smart enough with older folks to ask lots of questions and let them do as much as possible.

So I get my wife back...just in time, I was about ready to do the laundry burn pile.

*Just don't mention to Le' anything about any Blue goldfish, my catfish and I don't know anything about that........*EB

*Beats the he** outa me!....*LOL**...

Glad things are looking better for you regarding the property and squatter issues. If ya still need someone to "go have a chat with them" you just let me know and I'll see what I can do. LOL

Yeah, the last 2 weeks were really touchy around our place. Both of us are elated at the results of course...Kathie is still kind of milking the ordeal though. Made me go out to my parents place along Saturday for Grannies "summer" birthday party. I decided to be nice and not persist the issue. Shes in good spirits and only has minimal discomfort where they put the needle through on Friday. Actually she is making out pretty good...Im still doing the laundry, loading-unloading the dishwasher...scrubbing pots/pans in the sink...cooking...vaccuming...taking the dogs out to the pen to go "poopie" etc. Just hope she remembers how to do chores later on.

Glad to hear your mom is doing good. Just takes the right sized foot from the right person to kick the backend with just the right amount of force to get people going sometimes.

We are overdue for a visit. And even if its me solo....its gonna have to be soon. Besides I have two engines to assemble one of these days. Thinking I may assemble the one in the shed....crank is already ground to .020 mains and .010 rods. No polishing required....block is already honed and oiled (I's got bored one afternoon)...5K miles on the .040 bore from previous owner. Just need to order rings and bearings. Then we can ponder the new acquisition! I like the idea of the fresh unmilled block. Or I can order a complete master kit, use the crank and rods from the other engine and slap it back together.....so many options.
