I know that the bushings or bearings kind of need replacing, as it's sqeaked before, but my mechanic says I need new shackle brackets. Where can I order them?

Shackle brackets? I call that thing a frame. Never heard of factory bushings squeaking...unless they are just totally worn out. If you have urethane bushing they will need to be greased once in a while to keep them from making noise.

I'm sorry - shackle brackets? Have him top off the blinker fluid, too.

If he's talking about shackle bushings, then fine. Also, if he's talking about the shackles themselves, fine. But I don't know of any brackets on my Trooper, or anything that could need replacing. Do you have a pic?

Don't forget the muffler bearings.

maybe he means shackle bushings, he's a NY mechanic who doesn't work on troopers much. I doubt he's trying to screw me since I'm the one that has to find the item online and order it.

Look - take the ribbing in stride. We're not trying to laugh at you or him, we're trying to get at what ya need.

The best thing you can try to do is to take a picture of the needed part and post it here.

trust me, I'm not put off by some good natured humor :p

the picture is a bit of a problem, I'm in tennessee and the trooper is in NY. I'll email the mechanics wife and see if I can get some clarification.
