Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hey everyone thanks for all the help. The 89 I bought is great. I have done a few things to get it up to par.
I am planning a vacation in Aug. to Arkansas and I want to get the Raider into full travel mode. I am going to get some extra cash and want to put it into the rig.
Looking for a good mechanic in the houston area familiar with these rigs. If it needs it, I am going to replace/fix it.
Thanks for any help.

KD

3 rides, 1 smashed, 2 with bad motors, going to rebuild it he says, going to try!
Hate to say it. Never have time and money together. The raiders all of them are available.
Parts or whatever you want.

What type of work do you need other than service and tune up? Just be carefull going to someone and saying "fix everything" the bill could be huge!

Well for the most part the truck seems in great shape.
Newer motor 30K ago, all new belts, wires, ac, etc.
Looking underneath it I see some seals leaking and stuff like that.
Need all the fluids changed, that type of stuff. I have already done new fuel gauge, exhaust gasket, and belts.
So any help is great.

Where at in Houston?

There is a Kwik Kar on Louetta for small stuff. One of the guys that works there, used to have a D50.

There is a repair shop at Hwy 6 & clay. I havent been in there yet but one of the mechanics drives a Raider.

Hwy 6 & Loch Katrine, meineke, mech named Roger hasnt failed me yet and reaonable rates. Helped me switch out my rear diff.

Thanks for the help.
I live up north of H town. Cut n Shoot area.
I am thinking I am going to have to replace a bunch of seals. Seems to be some goo on the underside of the rig.
Thanks again.

Hello Houston members. We ought to go wheelin sometime. I can't give you a mechanic that specializes in Monteros I have not found one yet. My cousin owns a mechanic shop on Star road @ chimney rock. (Galleria area) He has been in business for many many years. the main thing is that he is honest. He has done all of the work I can't handle. No complaints so far. If you guys want to go wheelin call me 832-771-2774. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
