I need new tires for my 97 T-100 SR5 4WD and I would like some opinions from you guys that have driven a lot more miles than I have. Michelin LTXs are on sale now at the Navy base and I have heard good things about them. My driving is 99% road with occasional dirt, sand or slimy boat ramp during hunting season. I never drive on ice or snow since I live in Ventura CA. Also, same question for my wife's 99 4 Runner.
Thanks

I've put 10k on my Bridgestone Dueler Revo A/Ts and I'm loving them. I drive mostly highway, then soft sand and mud followed up with snow and ice (I'm a skier). Expensive, but they're great on the road and off. Of course, I have nothing much to compare with (had some crap tires on there before, old and dry-rotted). I can say with certainy that they are the BEST ice/snow tire I've even driven (grew up in Wyoming, I did a lot of ice/snow driving)... not that this is anything you'll encounter.

Well made and not pricey. The Michelin's will be a great tire for your needs, especially if you can save a few bucks on them locally. Not sure if they come in 35's though.... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

Michelin LTX M/S are a wonderful tire for pavement. My 01 4Runner came from the factory with them and when I changed them out at 73K miles, they still have legal tread left. Could have gone 80k, maybe 85k out of the set.

I have BF Goodrich Long Trail with about 26K on them. They are great for wear, they still look brand new. I have not seen the normal 4x4 wear like I had in my previous trucks with many different tires. I don't know if it is the Toyota difference or the tire. Probably the T. Lots of snow in West Michigan, they seem to do just fine, but maybe a little harder compund than some brands. If I had a huge HRSP, I think they would be less effective. JH

I had LTX MS's on my old Montero...boy o boy, I had a good 45K miles on those things, and they still had a little more then Half-life left on them. Plus, I live in the mountains, rough driving, lots of snow,rain,mud,ice...you name it,we got it. So, they did EXCELENT in all of those conditions.
I highly recomend those...
