Hi i have a standed 94 SWB trooper V6 5 speed can anyone give me some suggestion as to what i can do to make it better off road and still be able to use on road without going over the top i.e 2" lift? wheel and rim size go to 15" rims and tyres or stay with the 16"? Gear down low range? (standed seem pretty high) i am fitting a 9500Lb winch uprate the frount end when i do the lift? and who makes a good lift kit. Keep the Auto locking Hubs or go to manual ones? any other suggestions on other improvements i can do would be appreciated.

million threads here archived that cover a million different mods. hit up the search button at the top and you can uncover as much info as you need. Or you can wait for replies and just read other threads.

Definitely go with manual hubs. Lots of Isuzu fans covet the Aisin manuals that came on some Troopers past. Check junkyards, etc. For new, there's SuperWinch, Warn (kind of) and some Brazilian outfit whose name I can't recall.
Lower gears are available. Search for +tera +lows and you'll find plenty.
Everybody's got an opinion on lifts. Body or Suspension? 2" of each will give you room for more tire than you'll ever need. There's only so much you can do with the factory front suspension, which leads us to...
Solid Axle Swap aka SAS. Search for it. The possibilities are only limited by your budget.

No one has mentioned lockers.... next to having some lift and a decent set of tires, at least one locker is going to be the most benefical gain for offroad performance.

Here's one starting point: I would suggest starting with some good tires. (265's will fit stock) Then I would go to Sears and getting a 27mm socket and a breaker bar and crank your T-bars to offset the weight of the new winch and to level out the front end. Then 'wheel the snot out of it, until you break something or feel the need for an upgrade.

Look at Independent4x4, Calmini, and ARB. These are great outfitters as well as Darlington Off Road. I've got a '94 LS with a "FEW" mods, check out the pics. If you have any questions I would be glad to help. Terraflex also makes a Low range transfer gear that is simply wonderful. Good luck!

Yeah, I'd add 265/75/16 MTs, a tera low, and a locker. If you need the clearance you cna add coils and maybe a spacer.
