Man, i think you have got it all wrong. Maybe Rob did come off a little brash, heck we all do at one point in time, but he did have a point. Rob is a very VERY knowledgable and respected member of this forum so he kinda knows what he is talking about. i would suggest that you review your above statement and make the neccessary changes in your attitude. (Before one of the mods does it for you. dont make them do that.)

Now, as for your problem.
We do see where you are coming from, but to give you some idea, read the thread about the DOR rear bumpers in which Joe Darlington explicitly says exactly what Rob and many others have already stated.
These vendors spend thousands making these products for us. For someone to undermine all that work and simply copy it would make them lose all that capital. Do your homework, make some measurements and make your own home brew stuff, or pay full price for their stuff.

The choice is yours.

truperman,

Please, take a breath and calm down. Nobody here is attacking you. We *will* help where we can, but we can't do miracles and having a new guy go off doesn't exactly entice helpful responses.

I think the thing folks are getting hung up on is

So I guess what Im getting at is I need more specific details/instructions as ready made kits in my opinion are at least double what they should be.

I don't think anyone here would agree that the kits by DOR really cost double their worth. If you really want to just do it on your own, that's fine, but please don't *expect* step-by-step directions on how to do exaclty what you need for next to nothing.

That *may* happen, and does quite frequently, but specific questions generally fare much better than dissertation requests. Someone already mentioned a DIY alternate for the poly coil spacers for instance. Maybe ask for ideas in cutting your own balljoint spacers. Not sure if anyone here has a drawing, but you could make one pretty easily using the balljoint/a-arm as a pattern. I build a lot of my own stuff, and I *know* that the cost of DOR balljoint spacers is worth it, though if needed I'd likely build my own just because I enjoy doing this type of stuff.

I'm re-opening this thread, hoping it'll get back on track. Please everyone, don't turn it into a bash-fest. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for better articulating what I could not Dan.

truperman, I'm not out to bust your chops just for the heck of it and perhaps I wasn't as patient as I could have been. But both Joe and Matt are good friends and I also greatly value the support of them, as well as other vendors in our community. And speaking as someone that knows what goes into these kits/parts, your post struck the wrong way.

Like Dan mentioned, we're all hear to promote wrenching on our Isuzu's, and thats not limited to just bolting on store-bought parts. I'll be as happy as anyone else to bounce ideas around with you, but if you're looking for cut and dry Isuzu modifications, thats where the time and research the vendors have put into their kits really pay off.

For a 93 Trooper, all you HAVE to have for 3" lift is OME 912 springs and 2" coil spacers, along with torsion bar crank. 919 springs might give you another half inch. If you want to make your own spacers, look at this: http://myweb.cableone.net/bcanderson/trooper/coils/coils.html
I don't know how well these have held up, but you can email Bruce Anderson and see how they are doing.

I just stripped them out of my Dead Trooper. They are in good condition. No degradation that I could tell. That's after about 40k miles, much offroading, all weather conditions. They worked great.

Just thought you'd like to know. :p

See Ya
