I purchased the front (coilovers + upper control arms) and rear (leafs + shocks) from all-pro. This is an amazing kit. This is my first truck and my first experience with lift kits so i don't have any personal experience to compare this kit too. I spent about a month researching every lift kit available for my truck and called countless dealers, manufacturers, and emailed Mark, who btw isn't tainted, lol, and found this was the best kit for me.
The Good (1) the new upper control arms make this kit amazing and set it apart from all the others. The added strenght can't be beaten and this new ball joint puts the stock one to shame, (2) All-Pro has been in the business of 4x4 parts and racing for a long time and the quality of their stuff has been proven time and time again, (3) they use quality parts (Eibach springs, Bilstein shocks), and (4) their rear leaf springs are built like they belong on a military large payload vehicle let alone a toyota truck especially with the extra leaf up front to prevent axle wrap and the military rolled ends. The kit also comes with a diff drop kit to keep you from blowing out a CV
The Bad This could be my truck but i'm not sure. I noticed that i had to crank up the driver's side coil-over about 1/4 of an inch more than the passanger's side to get the truck to sit level and have my measurements be the same all around. You might not have this problem. I don't know if it's detremental to the setup (one side stiffer than the other) but oh well.
The worst part of this kit has to be the metal sleeves that go in the rubber bushings in the new rear leafs. They are made out of thin, cheapy looking, rolled metal (not sure what type) and they bent easily. According to the Toyota Service Manual, the front mount bracket for the leafs, where they mount to the front half of the frame, the bolt should be torqued to 110 ft.lbs. I got to about 80 ft. lbs when the sleeve began to squish and the bracket was actually bending in and squishing the rubber bushing on the leafs. I called All-Pro and they said 110 ft.lbs. is WAY to tight, even though toyota says that's the torque spec. They sent me out some new sleeves and i installed them, this time stopping at 80 ft. lbs. They could have easily used solid tubular steel rather than the cheap ones they sent me. I think i'm gonna go through and replace All-Pro's cheap sleeves with some steel tube ones when i have the truck up in the air again.
Even with the bad stuff, this kit is still amazing. I have been extremely happy with it on the trails. Paired with some BF Goodrich M/T's i have never gotten stuck, high centered, or bogged down, even when crossing a 3.5' rushing river. If you want to lift your truck but don't wanna empty your wallet, this is definetely the best kit to get. No cheapy hocky pucks up front or blocks for the rear.
I hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions. Also, ask Mark for his template to make a new Brake Proportioning Valve bracket to make up for the 3" in lift. It worked perfect for me and only took about 10 minutes to make out of some 1/8" metal stock.
Here's my truck. You can see the progression from no lift to lift + tires. Only thing you don't see is i have Bushwacker fender flares on my truck now which gives the truck a much beefier stance
