I need to find the VIN numbers for the FrankenJeep so that I can file for the title. Does anyone know of where the VIN numbers are located on the frame on a 91 YJ. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't think there is any VIN on the frame. Only on the body. The usual place at the base of the windshield and a plate in the engine compartment, driverside firewall.

Why does there have to be one on the frame? The FSM mentions those two only. You got no VIN plates? No title? Something's wrong with this picture.

I cannot think of any legit reason for stripped off vin numbers...Only one really bad one

Winston Down here you would simply apply for a home made vehicle. It will have to be inspected and you will HAVE to put the number of your choice permantly to the vehicle. You can get er done.
Nother way is to get the number off of a junked one and affix it to your ride. Then it will have the dreaded title that indicates it was resumed from the dead.
But, like the others, I fear there is no number on the frame.

There is also the possibility of buying a junked or wrecked Jeep and getting the title along with the tags, plus the bonus of a few spare parts

YEAH...I was affraid of that. Not to worry. The old body is going to a scrap metal yard. All the Vins from it are going on the New one for a "combined title"
