Can I say snake oil. At this cost you'll quickly spend more then the cost of new seals

Seemed like a cheap experiment to me - new valve seals (cant do this myself) $2000-$4500 according to ANY shop around here, --this "snake oil" $75.00 to try. I talked to the guy at the company and he said that they developed this for local shops and couldn't keep up with the orders for the stuff so someone suggested advertising it online. Maybe they are just non-computer savvy gearheads? Not defending them , just seems like an interesting product....

ALL the shops I talked to here (Dayton, Ohio) said they would have to send out the heads to be machined and all kinds of other work would need to be done. NONE would just do the seals and reassemble the engine. (The Mitsu. factory shop manual shows 16.5 hrs. per side of the engine to do the seals on the DOHC V6 3.5. That's 30 hrs. of labor at $70+/Hr. + Machining & parts
p.s. I guess what I meant to say before was that the guy at the oil company said they do keep up with the demand and since there was such a great demand in their area (South Carolina)for this stuff, someone suggested selling it online...

Even if the stuff prevents the oil from smoking when it burns, it doesn't mean that it's fixed the problem - you'd still be burning oil. You seem to be thinking along the lines of "out of sight, out of mind" which is exactly the crowd this product is marketing to. That kind of thinking will get you in deep trouble with an 3.5L SR. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/images/icons/boggled.gif) On top of oil, you'd also be burning money at $12.50/qt! Just because it's stopped producing visible fumes won't mean that it's stopped burning the oil. You'll still need to feed the vehicle at the amount you're burning it and that can add up! Save the money you were going to spend on snake oil and have the problem fixed. That's my advice.

I am in the middle of my Auto-RX process for my 95 3.0L SOHC V6 engine. Here is the site where you can purchase it. www.auto-rx.comHere is a forum of oil freaks that thinks it is better than sliced bread. Bob is the Oil Guy Look under the oil additives section. Many testimonials about this product. Plus it is $25 compared to the $75 for "smokeless" oil.

My two treatments of Auto-RX earlier this year did nothing to quell my blue smoke belcher. It did quiet the motor down a little though.

p.s. anyone wanna drive to Dayton to do my valve seals? I bought the truck a year ago for $5500 and have put nearly $4000 in it so far. The money train is running low and A cheaper valve seal job would suit me just fine :-)
