Another question regarding suspension--SAS'd rigs almost universally have leaf springs up front, even later models that have coils out back; curious if anyone has done a coil-sprung SAS?

Houlster did an awesome FJ-80, coil-sprung SAS on his 1st Gen Amigo. Right now the rear is still leaf-sprung, but he plans to go to coils there, also.

there are plenty. scooter36863's Trooper to name another. Houlster was already mentioned. Corbin's amigo, MichaelW's amigo, and i'm sure there a handleful more.
Its done somewhat commonly now adays, just not as common as leaf springs due to the learning curve of fab'ing a good link suspension to support the coils.

Mine is FJ-80 with the '80 coils on a 1st gen Amigo: Hehe, new project (SAS) Corbin & MichaelW use coil-overs on their 2nd gen Amigos. Trav uses coil-overs on his 2nd gen Rodeo. Troy (94rodeo) uses coils (TJ I think?) on his 1st gen Rodeo. He's got several threads on here from when he was working on it. --Dan
