Getting the Wheeling Fever

I need to replace tires on my wifes 2001 automatic 4 runner. Two are worn down to wear indicators and two still have 7/32 tread. Would it hurt anything to just replace two? Or do I need to replace all 4? Not sure what to do with this vehicle since in has the 4 wheel drive with all the anti slip crap.
