Body Damage is Cool
I finally got a few pics of my 2000 4Runner. It is in extremely good shape. 55,000 miles and only had one-owner. The exterior is almost exactly what I wanted--white with the large Limited-style fender flares (too bad it doesn't have the 5-spoke wheels), the interior is oak cloth (I am not a fan of leather) and it has two of the most coveted features--a 5-speed manual transmission and the factory rear locker. The only feature it's missing that I wanted is the sunroof.

The running boards are coming off ASAP and rock sliders will go on in their place. I finally decided against the full 3" OME lift--I don't need quite that much height and it looks funny with anything less than a 33" tire. With today's gas prices, I'm in the market for a 2" lift and some 32s. Any recommendations?

Truth be told, I just wanted to look like Dandeman.

OME add a leaf might be a good alternative. I got about 1.5" out of mine. I'm running with no top on the Runner so theres a couple hundred pounds less weight than normal at the moment. Full tank, 4 people and 4 days of beer and gear still doesn't squash the rear though.Nice looking rig, keep us posted how it comes along.

Looks like a great ride man. I would do some Radial 32" MT/R's like Dunlop or BFG and do just a 2" BL? I know BL's suck... but they're cheap & keep your CG low. or Try Allpro. I know they make Taco lifts upfront (same as runner) but the rear i'm not sure. best bet might be some billet aluminum 2" rear spring spacers or new springs all together and the AP front lift.

I noticed that.. It looks like mine more than you may have noticed on the front flares...

It doesn't have the front flare type that "integrates" into the running board and looks kind of goofy once you pull the boards off.. Those came on the majority of 2000 models that had factory running boards.

Yours has the same front flare as mine which I ordered w/o the running boards..

Lucky to have the locker.. I tried to special order, but was too close to end of the 2000 production run to be able too..

Interesting...I had to look at a few newer 4Runners on ebay before I could tell a difference. It looks like the Limiteds had different flares front and rear. They do integrate with the running boards better than ours, however you are right, they would look a little strange with the running boards removed.

Here's a 2002 Limited:

Good eye Dandeman!

yeah our '00 Limited has very integrated flares/running boards. However, our limited has painted front & rear bumpers with a 2 tone paint job. and limited emblems on behind the rear door pillars.
