Water (lake) on the passenger floor. #640276 08/24/05 02:52 PM

Yesterday I saw a post regarding this problem but I'll be darned if I can find it now. Anyhow, just below the battery you'll find a 3/4" O.D. tube protruding through the firewall. That is the a/c condensate drain. At highway speeds running the a/c, air pressure under the hood can force the drain to flow back into the cab. My solution was to attach a rubber elbow with a hose clamp to this drain tube. Now we run high and dry.

LW I think they ARE smarter than that. This is the first I have EVER heard anything like it. Maybe his hose had in the past been cut off too short. All I have ever seen worked fine.

BJ, my 02 Sahara as well as my 05 Rubicon came with the drain just as I explained. The flooding occured several time while on long highway trips with the a/c running. Nothing had been removed or cut off. Both rigs came from the factory as such. If you own a TJ w/ac take a look just under and slightly to the right of the battery and you will see the drain protrudind through the firewall.

Guwellie, in Central California, the summers are darn HOT so yes, I run the A/C.

She was clogged ... imagine that! At least wrong tires and a clogged tube are the worst that i've gotten on this used car. Last one, a year after i bought it, she over heated and cost me a grand and 4 days off work to get home from virginia lol
