Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hey guys. I am a weekender four wheeler. In other words I dont do some hard core four wheelin'. Did a little bit of muddin. The time has come to buy some new tires. So what do you guys recommend for a good all around tire for someone that does mostly road driving but goes off roading every once in a while? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

I am looking at Toyo Open Country A/T or BFG All Terrain. There is a Michelin but I forgot which one. So, what do you guys recommend? What your favorite all around tire?

Mudrunner
The best (in my opinion, of course) is the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A. They wear really well on the pavement (meaning they don't get chewed through in 12,000 miles like the more aggressive tires do), but they perform exceptionally well in most off road conditions, from mud to snow to sand. Now, you won't get super monster traction in the crazy crazy stuff that those hard-core tires will get you, but I've been through some deep kaka with mine, and they haven't failed me once. Also, I've never even been close to hydroplaning in the rain (however their traction isn't near what a passenger car tire would be in the wet stuff, especially with an empty bed). Hope I helped!

I've run BFG AT's for many years on my trucks and always liked them although they are loud and hard. Air them down and they wheel just fine.
I just bought some Goodyear Wranglers last week...What a difference...super quiet and much softer ride... as for wheeling... I don't wheel hard so these should work out just fine..
I heard Revo's are pretty good too.
Pass on any mud tire if 90% of your drivetime is on road. They won't last 20K miles.
If you get AT's at Discount tell them Tire Pros will sell them for $115.. Discount will match.

Which ones? I looked online and there are like 6 or 7 different Goodyear Wranglers.

Ive had mud-terrains for years, i put 20k on my last set and still had 65% left to sell to the next guy...they arent great in the snow covered roads, they are alot more quiet with the new design that came out a while back, with proper rotation they can last at least 45k...
