Body Damage is Cool
Last months, I was trying to figure out what would be the best suspension setup for Rodeo. I spent many nights measuring things and calculating the stuff. I was not completely happy about conventional Rancho 99179 rear application. Eventually, this is what I ended up:

1. Links: control arms are from StinkyFab, bent, with RE ends. Longer track bar, made by Matt.

2. Shocks - rear Rancho 9000X 99116, with both eye ends. Matt provided post-to-eye adapters. Front shocks are 99136s (longer then usual 99214s). 99116s are about 1.5" longer (on mounted length) than 99179s, which translates to about 2-3 longer downtravel. Also, the upper eye mount looks much stronger than the post mount of 99179s.

3. Coils - OME919 with 1" spacers. Together, they deliver about 4" of lift. OME919 without spacers are NOT long enough to keep the coils in place.
Also, without spacers, OME919 make less lift then my old OME913 with 2" spacers.

With this setup, the articulation is really huge. One downside is that I hit the gas tank by my driver side upper arm again - even with my bent arms.

The ride is good, better than I had before. I'll try to post some pictures soon.

Now, I have some spare parts which take space in my garage. SF Bay Area residents who need the following used parts, in perfectly good shape, PM me:

1. OME 913 coils
2. Rancho 9000X shocks: 99214 & 99179, front and rear pairs.
3. KYB shocks, stock length, wonderful on-road application.
4. Stock Rodeo coils.
5. Stock Rodeo trac bar.
6. Stock Rodeo upper/lower rear links.
7. Stock Rodeo sway bars, front and rear.

Get us some pics, man... I dig the thinking man's approach to mix-n-match, getting the best bits for YOUR particular setup.

How'd you lift the front enough to stay even?

I suppose yes. I have not seen this in action yet - it stands in my garage without rear bumper, which is in a paint shop right now. When I'll put the bumper on, I'll make the pictures.
