Will the front driveshaft fron an 85 work on an 86 with a SAS conversion? Or should I just plan on having one made?

depends on how much lift you have and if your running a differnt engine//tcase then the one that the driveshaft came out of. I would plan on having a higher angle one made especaily if you dont have a highpinion thirdmember. I recomend Jesse at www.highangledriveline.com he made my front driveshaft for a decient price and hes redoing my rearshaft right now.. very nice guy and he does good work with all toyota parts.

They generally run around $300 with your stock shaft. I had Jesse's dad's shop build mine (Paradise Driveline), since I went there by mistake. He built me two long-travel, heavy splined shafts for about $300 ea.
