<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />Is there an alignment mark on the steering shaft and the steering box on an 87'runner.Surfed the web and the forum but could never find an answer.Thought for sure it would be on 4crawlers site.Maybe I looked in the wrong section.I wanna make sure the steering wheel and the shaft are lined up with the box before I go for an alignment. Thanks ahead for any help!!later <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

No mark on the shaft itself, just set the wheels straight ahead and either pull the shaft out of the top clamp and turn the wheel straight or if it is all together, pull the wheel off and set it straight. There is a mark on the pitmen arm and steering box sector shaft: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/AxleTech/index.shtml#Alignment

<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />Thanks Roger.I might just try to align it myself using the fishing string method.Run fishing string from the back of the rear tire to the front of the front tire.I set the toe-in using a tape measure and getting both tie rod ends at equal lengths, now I need to adjust the lower control arms in or out to line the outside of the front tires with the string. The string should be straight from the front of the front tire to the back of the rear tire without any part of the front tire bulching the string out.Wish me luck or I'll be spending some bucks on a professional jod.YIKES!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
