I'm now looking down the barrel of finally making a change from auto to manual transmission and need advice.

I keep the RV as light as possible and just tip the scales at 5,200 lbs. loaded (moped and all). I understand the R150 (no suffix F for 4WD version) requires a bell housing out of a R151 to bolt up my 22RE.. apparently, it's most difficult to find which is not good. BUT, the R150 is said t/b strong and will allow me step to a V6 at a later time should I choose to do so.

The W55 (2WD version of W56) is priced about the same in salvage yards so price is not an issue. The W55 while limiting for engine swap concerns me more regarding it's ability to take a punch from weight and steep climbs in my RV. The chassis is a keeper. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Your thoughts, please.

For a Dolphin, I'd go with the R series. You can look up the gear ratios over in our Toyota FAQ (linky up in the header).
