I was using a jumper box to turn the motor...I was trying to figure out where my wiring was messed up in the harness I made. However, I didn't by pass the limiting switches. Theres a way to do it off a battery box still using the limiting switches. To lock ground ground pin 2 apply 12v power to pin 5 and jump across pin 1 and 3. To unlock ground pin 1, apply 12v power to pin 5 and jump across jump across pin 2 and 4. This still incorporates the limiting switches I've done it this way plenty of times....Something just went crazy and a cloud of smoke went up the pigs tail to the motor like it was black powder or something. I have no idea why. What does that pigs tail go to in the motor housing...Some kind of circuit board or something. I hate electronics and I'm no good at them that why I haven't pulled the motor apart yet. I don't know if I'd every get it back together right.

Damn man, what did you do to her. It was just working last night. I figured you would have had it fully operable by tonight. There goes that good luck again. Hey, you hadn't seen my sunglasses over there have you?

Never thought I'd see you replying on this thing...anyhow, remember the wires that were mixed up...well somehow in hell I managed to get them wrong again and the damn thing went up in smoke, literally. Haven't taken the motor apart yet put I got a feeling it ain't going to be good. I got the spare motor on there now but that ain't exactly mine. Your glasses are on the table right where you left them. I'll get up with you after work tomorrow. Waves might be getting better looks like the wind will be right. Who know....I still can't believe I ***** this up.

OOPS yea, you are right, thats the way to do it. I was thinkin' of the results, that I've seen, when 12V is applied to pins 1 and 2. the motor will turn but won't stop. Sounds like you have a handle on how it works. If pic's, of the subassemblies, would help w/ dis/re-assembly PM me and I'll email 'em to ya.
