Getting the Wheeling Fever
I own a 99 taco that needs a lot of help; I've been reading thru most of the posts and you guys have been giving ALOT of good advice on other people's toys!! I need some of your expertise on my problem:
1)ABS light
2)airbag light and
3)check engine light (once in awhile) are lit up.
I've changed the brakes and rotors, got the brakes bled and still the ABS light is still on.
For the check engine light----- right now----the light is not on.
4)the stock shocks needs to be changed----what are your recommendations as to what kind to use. bilsteins are very expensive. I would also like to get a 1" lift on my taco also(adding leaf springs??).
I'm also buying a throttle body (airRaid body spacer) and and AEM cold air intake, I drive over 150 miles a day (conserve gas); what are your recommendations? Any suggestions is greatly appreciated guys. Thank you.

First off I would ditch the throttle body spacer and cold air intake idea. You should do the deck plate mod(lots of info on the net on this one) instead and get a reuseable air cleaner. Lot cheaper, just as good IMO.

Next if your getting shocks bite the bullet and buy Bilsteins, these shocks work great on Tacos.

As far as lift, is it really worth it for 1"? I thought about it myself and decided no.

Go to Autozone and rent the code scanner and use it next time the check engine light comes on. It will tell you exactly whats going on.

Good luck.

Thanks for the helpful advice, you saved me buckets of $$$$!!! I just got done looking over the air filter mod, I'm going to a boat store to pick up that deck plate and run to Lowes right now. Does this deck plate mod would work for any vehicle? Thinking about putting one in my wife's Chevy Trailblazer.
I also read about using Tundra springs would give me a better ride with a 1-2" lift. Do you know anything of that?

Once again, your advice was helpful. Thanks a whole bunch man.
