well, thought i'd chip in my 2 cents on a couple of things and just say hey from mexico. the jeep just sits and lately, i've been shamefully pulling parts from her and puttin em on the rambler(1965, 4.2 liter) the elescronic ignition added about 20% hpo, or so it feels, and the weber carb is next. so the jeep has been put on the back burner for the everyday driver, but how many can claim a 65 rambler as a daily driver? hello all rob

Welcome back. Sorry to hear about your Jeep, but how many can claim a 65 rambler as a daily driver

Hey, Rob! Thanks for checking back in; good to hear from you, again. I really enjoyed your short story about avoiding the ticket for not wearing a seat belt! Must be a lot advantages running a Rambler in Mexico. So ... how are things going, other wise? How's the teaching job? Still exciting?

Thanks for the interest Fred. Yup, teaching still gets me off, so to speak, haha. Actually I love it more and more. I haven't even had to look for work in over a year. The jobs just come to me by word of mouth. A gringo, really? Here in Toluca? What's his #? I'm turning down work! I've been doing some extensive searching for sorely needed parts for the Rambler. As far as the Jeep is concerned, she isn't forgotten, just put on the back burner. I have to do a lot of driving, and the Jeep, as it sits just isn't practical for the expressway. But I have found that the Rambler is a really fun way to get around. Jeez, I hate these new cars! so cookie cutter. One of the great thing about AMC products here in Mex is that every mechanic knows how to work on them. There are 5 Gremlins on my block alone! We're crushing them up north, but here the older cars are viable forms of transportation for people that don't have the money for newer cars, and everyone here has great respect for the reliability and longevity of the AMC product.
