NOw the timing belt cover is off (no one warned how hard that left side cover would be to remove, chipped off some pieces) - if the water pump is weeping antifreeze from the top hole, is that normal? Or should I replace - I wasn't planning to because I am going to sell the vehicle right after this 120K service, but will do if it's aproblem for the next few weeks before selling.

Thanks.

Coolant weeping through the holes means the internal seals of the pump are worn out. It can cause overheating if it gets worse <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />. Plus if anyone goes to buy it and sees coolant leaking they'll either run <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> or try to knock you down in the price <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />. Change it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />.

Done - interestingly the hole I thought was for weeping, was a bolt hole with a missing bolt - two other were loose. This was the factory pump - anyone notice this before?
