Yes, that's a new TV commercial for the Taco. The vid you linked to edited out the text at the end of the commercial that says something to the effect of the Taco being meteor-proof. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

You know it's interesting. I haven't been paying too much attention to Tacoma commercials, but I can think of at least two others that I've seen that obviously are aimed and the young crowd. And I mean, young as in, just out of high school young.

I guess that's the demographic that Toyota is chasing with the new Tacoma.

It's definately a cheaper truck. Except for the price. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

I have to admit i'll drive nothing but a Toyota but I absolutly hate there commercials. The Monster Truck arena one, the one where the truck goes over the cliff and flips 5x and lands on it's wheels and drives away, the one where the idiots or should I say idiots girlfriends load a foosball table in the back bed to play foosball in the woods...the guy with low esteem that gets a new one and flys overroad in it, and then this meteor one. They all suck. They remind me of the old Ford Ranger commercials of the 80's.

You gotta wonder who comes up some of these marketing campaigns. How about those Burger King commercials with the freaky guy in the mask? Who the hell thought that would sell hamburgers. I'm afraid to go to BK now.

See, the truth in advertising is there, you just have to look for it.

Taken frame by frame you can actually see the 1990 Mitsubishi Montero coming up from a gully alongside the Taco. The Montero absorbs the brunt of the force from the meteor causing a minor course deviation for the small suv and of course, a lot of smoke.

I have no idea why that bald guy was throwing flaming motorcycles around... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
