Looks like they have a bad lot of alternators in stock. I would switch to a OEM starter

As an FYI my local mechanic won't use Bosch alternators. He doesn't like the quality (but this may be their rebuilt alternators). I suggest the next time this happens you replace it instead and get the alternator from a local (small business) rebuilder, not a mass production place. Here's my reasoning...

The local rebuilder's reputation is on the line with the alternators he rebuilds. Even if they are still under warranty, if they don't last, then neither will his business. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Body Damage is Cool
That a lot of replacements. Go to a battery shop and have the alternator and battery checked out.
I have had good luck with NAPA's rebuilt units but not the discount part stores.

Inspect the alternator you're taking out to make sure it wasnt' fouled by engine oil. If you've got an oil leak that is dripping onto the alternator, you'll need to address that 1st or each replacement alternator will suffer the same fate as the previous one. Do voltage drop tests to check the integrity of the battery to alternator wire, as well as battery to chassis, and block to chassis. Good LUck!
