I've got a 99 Rodeo, v6 4wd
While driving I get a real strong engine oil smell in the cabin of the vehicle. It comes and goes, but it is strong. When it "goes" I don't smell it at all. Any ideas?
Thanks, Marc
PS---I did not spill any oil in my vehicle.

Check your valve covers. I'm not sure if a 99's engine is covered by this, but I do remember something about a TSB that spoke about oil leaving from the valve covers onto the exhaust.
Could be your issue...?

Took a look around the engine compartment today, but did not notice anything awry. It is awefuly dirty in there, so tomorrow I am going to give my car one last good cleaning until spring. I am going to clean the engine compartment and hopefully that will allow me to see if there is a leak better. Hopefully there is none. After this cleaning I will watch my Bills get destroyed by the Patriots.
