The rear antilock brake light, and the parking brake light come on after driving it for a while. Then when I turn it off, the lights go off and stay off for a while then come on. Any ideas? This happened after the SAS, in case anyone is wondering.

Thanks <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I show those same lights after installing my locker. I disconnected the rear ABS sensor when I installed my locker, since the two don't go together. If your sensor is still supposed to be working, I'd check the connections at the axle, and another one on the passenger side frame rail in front of the wheel well. Might have gotten disconnected durring all the modifications.

I believe a change in line pressure at the combination valve, say, from running different front calipers, could trigger the light to come on.

Mine's been on longer than I can remember, but I also lost the rear ABS along with the stock axle. Haven't ever really worried about it.

If it bothers you that much pull the RWAL bulb and dig into the "BRAKE" light circuit to seperate it from the ABS. IF you tie that bulb diretcly to the EBrake swicth you can get it to come on only when the ebrake is pulled. Rob is right there is a proportiong swicth on your brake line manifold that senses line pressure differntials and can give your front brakes more pressure in case of rear line failure. (or something like that) different line pressures will set off that light.

There's a way that you can pull the code for the ABS sensor. Can't remember exactly how to do it (involves sticking a paper clip in the connector and grounding the circuit). There's a bunch of posts if you do a search.

As an after thought, did you have your rear end re-geared when you did your SAS? When I had my 4.88's installed, the shop that did the work said they had to machine something in the rear end to allow for the ABS to keep working properly. Of course they told me this after the work was done. That rear wheel ABS is good for nothing.
