Body Damage is Cool

I started using Castrol 10W-40 semi-synthetic oil in the 4Runner. At $1 more per quart than regular Castrol dino oil I figured I could safely extend my oil change interval from 3,500 miles to 5,500 miles. Are there any negatives associated with these semi-synthetic motor oils?
