Hey guys does anyone know if the coilovers off of a 2005 taco will fit on a 99? Both are Prerunners so they're on the same platform. The reason being is that when my sister buys my truck and I buy the double cab all of the front suspension stuff is going to come off my 99 and go onto the double cab. My sister wants to keep it lifted but doesnt have the money to buy a new lift and I have a friend who will be getting the new donahoes for his 05 and asked if I wanted his stock bilstien coilovers for her truck. I've heard that these will fit the 99 and give it up to 3" of lift. Has anyone else heard of this??

I believe it's a completely different setup.... or else they would have just kept on using 04 tacoma part on the new 05's.
You can use 03-05 4runner parts, but not tacoma on the new 05'.

I agree with Greg, I believe they've completely changed the setup. As Greg said, much of the stuff on the new Tacoma comes straight from the 4Runner.

I thought it might work since they are both still on the coilover setup and the only thing I can tell is that the new ones seem longer than the 95.5-04's...I guess that means there's only one way to find out if they'll fit or not I'll keep you guys updated and let you know what I find out on this little research project
